How did Black Squirrels come to be in Blissfield, you ask?
Well, they are becoming more ubiquitous worldwide but in the early 50’s they were slowly being introduced to Blissfield. As legend has it, a C.H. Fairbank, Sr., eventually released 19 of them in Blissfield from Battle Creek, MI. They are now the ordinary habitants in the area, along with Blissfield’s many outdoor creatures. The Flea Market is a place where many come to shop antiques and modern. Before you drop, be sure to stroll our beautiful parks and say ‘Hello’ to the squirrels.
